What are meteoroids?

Meteoroids are pieces of matter moving through the solar system; meteors are the flashes of light they produce when entering the earth's atmosphere; and meteorites are the remains of meteoroids that reach the ground.

There are many different types of meteoroids, because they come off of different types of asteroids. There are Chondrite, Achondrite, Iron, Martian, and Vesta. The one in the picture is Vesta, to see more meteoroid pictures, there is another page with pictures and the names of them.

Question :What would happen if one of these would enter earth's atmosphere?

Answer: it depends on the size, if it is small enough, it will burn up in the atmosphere. it also depends on where it hits. if it hits the ocean, depending on its size, it might create a tidal wave.
